AMP8500 Distributed servo drives with increased rotor moment of inertia with TwinSAFE
he AMP8500 distributed servo drive system supports safe drive functions with TwinSAFE and can be used for the implementation of safety-relevant functions. The functionality can be realized either via secure FSoE communication or locally in the distributed drive using the integrated TwinSAFE Logic.
The AMP8500 is equipped as standard with TwinSAFE STO/SS1 and TwinSAFE Logic. The system is optionally available with TwinSAFE Safe Motion incl. TwinSAFE Logic in order to realize more complex safety applications. It is not possible to retrofit the TwinSAFE option.
High rotor inertia: The high rotor inertia makes control easier, vibrations lower during operation, and easier to adjust in applications where high external inertia loads need to be moved.
Safety functions: TwinSAFE STO/SS1 and TwinSAFE logic are standard for basic safety functions. TwinSAFE Safe Motion functions and logic are optional for more complex safety applications.
Encoder integration: The integrated 24-bit SIL2 safety encoder enables high-precision applications and can also be used in applications requiring functional safety, without mechanical limit switches in most cases.
Interface technology: EtherCAT P cable connection is used, and no other connections are required during operation, which can effectively reduce wiring costs and complexity.
Application areas
Suitable for modular mechanical design solutions without control cabinets that require high synchronization and control quality, such as large CNC machine tools, woodworking machine tools, printing machinery, winding machines and other large equipment.
