The Beckhoff AM8500 series servo motors are synchronous servo motors with high rotor inertia for applications with extremely high requirements for synchronization and control quality.
The AM8500 series also has the following technical features:
One Cable Technology: With One Cable Technology (OCT), the motor power supply and feedback lines are integrated into one standard motor cable, reducing wiring costs and complexity.
High Resolution Encoder: The standard 24-bit SIL2 safety encoder enables high-precision position and speed feedback to meet the needs of high-precision applications. An Endat 3 encoder with a resolution of 24 bits and SIL3 safety integrated functions is also available.
High Rotor Inertia: By changing the rotor geometry, the rotor rotation inertia is increased by 100%-300% depending on the length compared to the AM8000 servo motor, making it more suitable for applications that need to move high external inertia loads, such as CNC machine tools, woodworking machines, printing machinery, winders and feed drives.
