The Foxboro® brand Models 11GM and 11GH Transmitters accurately measure gauge pressure and transmit a proportional pneumatic output signal to receivers which may be several hundred meters or yards away. Spans are fully adjustable up to a 10:1 ratio, providing wide rangeability in a single instrument. Fewer stand-by transmitters are required. The Models 11GM and 11GH Transmitters use the same topworks as other Foxboro Pneumatic d/p Cell ® Transmitters. Since accuracy is a function of calibrated span, precision is retained even with highly elevated- or suppressed-zero ranges.

The measured pressure is applied to the bellows diaphragm capsule. The force on the capsule is transferred to the lower end of the force bar by bending. The metal diaphragm seal acts as both the fulcrum of the force rod and the seal of the pressure chamber. The force is transmitted through the flexure to the range rod, which rotates on the range wheel.
Any movement of the range rod causes a small change in the gap between the baffle and the nozzle. This causes the output pressure from the relay to the feedback bellows to change until the force on the feedback bellows balances the force on the bellows diaphragm box.
The output pressure established by this force balance is the transmitted signal and is proportional to the pressure applied to the bellows diaphragm box. This signal is transmitted to a pneumatic receiver for recording, indication and/or control.
