The 1321-RWR12-DP reactor is a line reactor whose main function is to condition the output power of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) so that the excessive over-voltages normally produced in the inverter section of those devices can be reduced and kept under control. These over-voltages normally occur as a result of using Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) for Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), and they can potentially lead to electrical arcs known as partial discharges (or a corona effect) in the windings of the motors, and they damage the insulation and rendering the machine systems unusable.
