FOXBORO PH/ORP Sensor 871A Series Introduction

The 871A-1 and -2 (standard) sensors are designed for use with the 873PH and 873DPX analyzers, and can also be used with the 875PH analyzer and 870ITPH transmitter.

The 871A-3 and -4 (Smart) sensors are designed for use with the 875PH Smart Analyzer and 870ITPH Smart Transmitter. They provide the added feature of on-line diagnostics to signal the user in the event of any of several common sensor failures. These sensors can be installed into the process in a variety of ways. They have a 1-inch external NPT connection at both the electrode and cable ends. The sensors can be plugged directly into the production line, or the sensors can be connected to other standard pipe sizes with a variety of accessories. Field installations in weirs, drains, ponds, and tanks are possible by coupling the 1-inch NPT connection at the cable end of the sensor to the desired length of 1-inch pipe and then lowering the assembly into the process to be monitored.

These sensors utilize a sealed electrode design, eliminating concerns about the integrity of the electrode system. When used in conjunction with a smart analyzer or transmitter, the smart sensor design can send a signal to the user informing them of any loss or breach of electrode system integrity. All sensors are factory tested to ensure proper performance when installed.
