The 1203-FM1 SCANport module can be removed or inserted under power safely, but note that removing it under power may cause the SCANport devices that are attached to it to experience faults. To install the 1203-FM1 SCANport module with or without applied power, rotate the keyswitch on the 1203 terminal base unit clockwise to position 1, make sure that the flexbus connector is pushed all the way to the left to connect to the neighboring terminal base, make sure the pins on the bottom of the module are all straight, position the module by using its alignment bare, and press the module firmly down into place until the latching mechanism of the terminal base is locked into the module.
