The Allen-Bradley 1756-M02AE is an analog encoder (AE). This module has two axes and a quadrature-position feedback output. This module controls drives or actuators that need either a +/- 10V velocity or a torque reference input. It ensures that the actuator (motor) follows the profile by monitoring the position feedback via the quadrature encoder input. It also generates an analog command reference for the drive. The 1756-M02AE module functions with several quadrature-output rotary and linear transducers. It can be mounted to a ControlLogix chassis, including the 1756-A4, 1756-A7, 1756-A10, 1756-A13, and the 1756-A17, but it requires an RTB, or Removable Terminal Block. The 1756-TBCH or the 1756-TBS6H RTB are both compatible this module, and they can be installed in any available slot of the chassis.
