The Allen-Bradley 1719-TB8S is an Ex I/O 8-pole spring terminal block. Terminal blocks are wired to field devices, attached to the front sockets of I/O modules, and tightened into place with screws. Terminal blocks can come in screw terminal form or in spring terminal form. The 1719 Ex I/O modules are signal conditioning devices with integrated intrinsic safety barriers to interface signals from field devices located in hazardous areas (rated at Class I, Div.1 or Zone 1/0) with controllers or process control systems in the safe area. The 1719 Ex I/O Modules themselves can be mounted in the safe area or in a Zone 2/Class I, Div. 2 rated area. This platform integrates devices in hazardous areas via the Ethernet/IP network in a chassis-based I/O design that provides maximum efficiency in a small space. The use of the 1719 Ex I/O modules can reduce installation, maintenance, and inspections costs.

The wire type recommended for use with the 1719-TB8S is a rigid or flexible 0.15 to 1.5 square millimeters unshielded cable. For flexible conductor cross-sections with a wire end ferrule and with or without a plastic sieve, the recommended wire size is 0.25 to 1.5 square millimeters. The recommended range for terminal screw torque is from 0.22 to 0.25 N-m. The approximate weight of the 1719-TB8S is 5 grams and its dimensions are 40.9 x 12.4 x 20.8 millimeters. The terminal has a core cross-section of 0.14 to 1.5 square millimeters. The color of the terminal housing is blue. The 1719-TB8S is a spring terminal type terminal block. The mounting, installation, operation, and maintenance of the 1719-TB8S should only be performed by trained and qualified personnel.
