The Allen-Bradley 1719-TB6S is a 6-pole spring-type of terminal block. The 1719-TB6S is part of the 1719 Ex I/O product line which is specially designed to be used in locations that are considered hazardous. The 1719 Ex I/O devices include integrated safety barriers that are suitable for hazardous locations rated as Class I, Div. 1 / Zone 1/0 areas. The 1719-TB6S is available in blue. It is suitable for use with the frequency counter that is the 1719-IJ I/O module. The cross-sectional area of the core of the 1719-TB6S ranges from 0.14 to 1.55 square millimeters. The approximate mass of the terminal block is 5 grams. The dimensions of its enclosure are 12.4 x 33.3 x 20.8 millimeters. An unshielded wire type with a cross-sectional area ranging from 0.14 to 1.5 square millimeters is suggested for use with the 1719-TB6S. A minimum of 0.22 N-m to a maximum of 0.25 N-m of torque can be applied to the terminal screws.

The installation and servicing of the 1719-TB6S should be carried out by competent and experienced staff. Since the terminal block is primarily going to be used in hazardous locations where there is an ever-present risk of explosions, special precautions to prevent electrostatic discharge must be followed, including cleaning with a moist cloth rather than a dry cloth, wearing a grounding strap, avoiding touching the component boards and the components on the boards, and storing equipment in static-safe packets. To prevent the occurrence of an electrical arc which could cause an explosion in hazardous areas, any I/O module on which the 1719-TB6S is installed should be inserted or removed after the backplane power is turned off.
