The basic function of the 1771-IQ AC input module is to interface your On/Off devices to the Allen-Bradley controllers that are built into the 1771 I/O universal structure. The 1771-IQ is available in a variety of input ranges. This AC module consists of the output circuitry that is necessary to control the On/Off feature of the AC devices. The 1771-IQ output module comes with solenoids, AC motor starters, and indicators. The 1771-IQ features 8 inputs and a voltage category of 10-60V DC with a sink or source load. The 1771-IQ input module uses 5-30V DC operating voltage. The backplane current on which the device works reaches a maximum of 150mA. The device is featured with a typical DC signal delay of less than 1 ms fast on/off and 12 ms slow on/off. The wiring arm of this input module is the Allen-Bradley 1771-WC. You need not worry about the placement of the device because you can mount it on any rack without any difficulty. The 1771-IQ includes surge suppression circuitry for supporting the output traces. The metal-oxide varistor supports the smooth suppression of high voltage transients from the AC lines. When the device is wired in parallel in a series with hard contacts and the RC network helps in the magnitude of the voltage transients. The 1771-IQ’s circuitry is protected from being overloaded by the fusing of the outputs on most of the modules.
