The Allen-Bradley 1771-P6S is an auxiliary power supply with a nominal input voltage of 220V AC with an input range of 194-264V AC RMS. It has a maximum of 56W of real and 89V A of apparent input power. The backplane output current is rated at 8 A at +5V DC, with a maximum transformer load of 140V A. The 1771-P6S is part of the series of 1771 Power Supplies for PLC-5 Programmable Controllers /1771 Control Systems. It occupies 1 slot and is mounted on the I/O chassis side plate. Whenever the AC line voltage drops below the minimum, the 1771-P6S Auxiliary Power Supply generates a shutdown signal in the backplane. The shutdown signal will only be lifted off when the line voltage comes back, up above the low voltage limit. This action is necessary to retain only valid data in the memory. The 1771-P6S module ships with one 5-position terminal block. This power supply can be configured to support remote or local sensing via the jumper selection. Its two jumpers can be located near the gold-plated edge connectors, at the back edge of the module. To produce more power, two power supplies on the same I/O chassis can be used. When creating this connection, a Power-Supply Paralleling Cable (1771-CT) is required to allow communication between the two supply modules.
