Known for their quality and reliability, the MTL7700 Series of intrinsically safe passive network devices use Zener diodes, resistors and fuses to safely conduct excess electrical energy to ground and prevent equipment in hazardous areas from sparking or overheating, helping to provide a safe working environment and protect against explosions.
Designed as a DIN rail mount barrier, the MTL7700 allows for quick and easy installation without the need for special hardware. Removable terminals are used for easy installation, maintenance and to provide loop isolation by simply disconnecting the terminals from the side of the module. The cable entry is also angled to facilitate wiring in enclosures with limited space.
The MTL7700 barriers can be easily and securely clamped onto standard T-profile DIN rails while providing a reliable IS ground connection.
For applications where field power is required for switch inputs or 2-wire transmitters, the MTL7700 Series provides a bus power supply capability. When used in conjunction with the MTL7798 power supply module, the user has a fully protected, electronically fused supply to many barriers without additional wiring.
