Gas Detector Head Transmitter for Combustible Gases
The SD-1 Gas detector head transmitter for combustible substances is equipped with a built-in display and signal converter. It represents a cutting-edge gas detection transmitter designed for hazardous areas. This instrument can measure in ppm and % LEL ranges. The SD-1 is capable of detecting combustible vapors or gases such as methane (CH4) or general hydrocarbons (HC), as well as toxic gases like hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and carbon monoxide (CO). Moreover, it has an IECEx ATEX-certified flameproof enclosure, making it suitable for environments containing acetylene and hydrogen.
The SD-1 features a simple magnetic tool for controlling calibrations and maintenance adjustments without the need to open the unit in a hazardous area. The “single man calibration” feature enables easy and cost-effective maintenance.
Powered by 24VDC, the SD-1 outputs a 4-20mA communication signal through a 3-wire type analogue transmission for connection to an external PLC. It can also be used with controllers like the RM-6000 and RM-5000 when necessary. Users can connect alarm sounders and beacons via the relay contacts. The built-in microprocessor has a self-diagnosis function and can automatically zero, minimizing maintenance work and costs.
SD-1 for Hydrogen Detection
New European legislation has reclassified power station generator rooms as Zone 2 areas. Consequently, operators are required to follow specific procedures to reduce the explosion risk. The Riken Keiki SD-1, with its IECEx ATEX-certified flameproof enclosure suitable for hydrogen environments, is an ideal choice for use in a fixed hydrogen detection system within power station generator halls. It can detect hydrogen at ppm levels, providing ample warning in case of a leak.
SD-1 for Oxygen
The SD-1OX is an oxygen monitor and detector. It offers multiple range options, including 0-5% Vol (ideal for furnace applications) and 0-10% Vol. Additionally, 0-25%, 0-50% Vol, and 0-100% Vol ranges are available upon request. Customers utilize the SD-1OX in numerous applications in the furnace, marine, petrochemical, and oil industries.
A suction adapter (SD-1D) that can be fitted over the detector head is available. This adapter can be used in conjunction with a remote sampling pump, such as the air aspirator unit (SD-1D-AS). This setup is perfect for applications where standard diffusion detection may not be appropriate.
